One harp to make a difference

A one woman show, just me and my harp, why not?

When I was younger I was jealous of pianists who were giving solo recitals and the audience thought it was the most normal thing to do. As I grew more in the world of possibilities with the harp, I was amazed how few harp concerts were given each year. There was a skepticism from the programmers who didn’t believe a solo harp recital would be attractive enough.

I wanted so badly to prove them wrong. My opinion: sometimes you have to create a world in order to get people to become aware of it, after that it’s up to them to stay with it or look further. I have then looked for ways to express my self on stage, giving different programs, in intimate setting, sharing my believes and experiences with the audiences.

I was moved by the way singer-songwriters tell about their music in a very personal way and even though most of my compositions are not written by me, it should have the same impact, to bring the music across in a personal way.
