Innovation through interaction

Throughout the centuries there is definitely good repertoire written for the harp, just to name a few: Handel, Mozart, Fauré, Britten, Hindemith, Debussy and Ravel all wrote pieces for the harp.

But in order to stay with the newest developments in the music world, to keep moving with the time and to reach new audiences, it’s crucial to keep gaining new music for this particular instrument. I find it one of the most thrilling aspect of being a musician, to explore and extend the repertoire through the interaction with the composers.

This can be done in different ways, with composers who have an idea they want to express on the harp, or by improvisations and trying out new things. I have worked with artists from the classical field, but also from the theater and the pop scenes, with dancers and choreographers and visual artists.
