On Saturday January 24th. (Ned.2, 13:10h.) the Dutch TV program “Podium” (NPS) will show a documentary about Lavinia. The main topic is her winning the Dutch Music Prize 2009. On Monday January 25th. (Ned.2, 23:50h.) the concert she gave at this event will be broadcasted (Badings – Harp Concerto and Yun – In Balance).

In de schaduw van de stervioliste Janine Jansen hebben ook andere Nederlandse musici dit najaar excellente verrichtingen zien uitkomen op cd. Hun kansen op eigen glossy’s zijn kleiner, maar de resultaten zijn groot.
Tot de beste producties hoort die van de harpiste Lavinia Meijer, uitblinkend in naoorlogs werk: ‘oude’ nieuwe muziek van Britten uit 1969, nieuwere van Takemitsu en Isang Yun, en nog nieuwere van Byrnes en Patterson. Die laatste twee zijn van hier en nu, maar klinken minder grensverleggend dan de overleden Yun en Takemitsu. (more…)

On November 2nd. the Dutch newspaper “De Volkskrant” wrote a review about the Dutch Music Prize, which was given to Lavinia on October 31st. in the Grand Hall of the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam.
