Lavinia Meijer | Harp

Een meesterwerk

Het Franse HAUTE DEFINITION heeft de volgende recensie geschreven over Lavinia’s nieuwe CD Visions:

“Without doubt, here is one of the most magnificent recordings devoted to the harp of the past ten years. This monument – for that is what it is – is dedicated to contemporary composers or those from the last century. We can thus listen to Benjamin Britten (1913-1976) in his Suite Op.83 dating from 1969, who at the time declared: “I believe in roots, in associations, in context, in personal relations. I want that my music be for people, that it please them, that it puts their life into value… ;” Spiders Op.48 by Paul Patterson (born 1947) dating from 1985, and Bugs Op.93 from 2006, Visions in Twilight by Garret Byrnes (born 1971) from 2000, In Balance by Isang Yun (1917-1995) dating from 1987, and finally, Sranza II for Harp and Tape by Toru Takemitsu (1930-1996) from 1971. Lavinia Meijer once again performs with communicative passion. Each instant of her brilliant playing, colorful and inspired from beginning to end, is absolute magic. Her fingers glide on the chords with both grace and virtuosity. Time then seems to stop its forward advance, leaving the silence of these poetic resonances melt into our most intimate thoughts. This, quite simply, is a masterpiece.”
